Sleep well the night before. A solid 7–8 hours makes the session noticeably easier to sit through, and helps your body recover faster afterward.
Eat something substantial beforehand. Low blood sugar and dizziness are no fun mid-session — bring a favourite snack too, in case you need a top-up.
Wear loose, comfortable clothing that gives easy access to the area being tattooed without pressing on it or cutting off circulation.
Moisturize the area daily for a week or two beforehand. We'll usually handle any shaving on the day — if your hair is long or thick, trim it down (not fully) with clippers first so it's easier on your skin.
Drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your appointment.
Bring something to keep you occupied — music, a show, a book, headphones. Please note Sprig is a small private studio, so we're not able to accommodate guests.
Skip alcohol and aspirin for at least 24 hours before — both increase bleeding. If you arrive showing signs of impairment, we won't be able to tattoo you that day.
Bring ID and any paperwork, especially for a first visit.
Arrive on time, or a little early.
